A wine which, as the counter-label of the time states, "does not come from ancient possessions, but from man's toil"; and which has a challenging and dutiful goal: to redeem the wine of Treiso Pertinace, starting from the name, borrowed from the Roman leader and emperor Publio Elvio Pertinace, who was born where the cellar stands, has been witness since 1973 of an attachment to the land and to tradition that has never made concessions to fashions and trends. On a technical level, Pertinace has developed a style of vinification and aging that has remained faithful to the large barrels, even when the barrique winds blew strongly on those hills. Treiso is part, together with Barbaresco, Neive and San Rocco Seno d'Elvio, of the 4 municipalities of Barbaresco DOCG; for some years the disciplinary has introduced the Additional Geographical Mentions, micro-territories to which the name of the vineyard can be added, including Castellizzano, Marcarini and Nervo, well represented in the Pertinace range. Today the winery represents 20 members, for 110 hectares of regular rows that wind through the hills of the Langhe, and produces great Barbaresco DOCG in respect of tradition, with an aging capacity of up to 40 years, as evidenced by some 1982 magnums kept , but not jealously, in the cellar. A wine, Barbaresco, which karma always has to deal with the other expression of Nebbiolo, Barolo, with respect to which, without detracting from the c.d. "King of wines", however, emerges for finesse, elegance, and great combinations.

Here in the ad an exemplary tale of Barolo Extra Aged Monfortino by Giacomo Conterno from 1941 Excellent condition despite the age, in fact the label shows signs of wear and the level of the joint has just decreased but the color has remained perfect Giacomo Conterno's Monfortino is one of the most prestigious red wines in Italy, a true legend of the Langhe. Monfortino is a Barolo, an expressive, deep and territorial Barolo, just like the cellar founded by the Conterno family in 1900. The first time a Monfortino label appeared was in 1924, as the vineyards were mostly near Monforte d 'Alba, while since 1974 Monfortino has been produced with grapes from Vigna Francia di Serralunga d'Alba. The bunches are chosen with care and abundance, vinification takes place through an alcoholic fermentation process in oak vats with maceration on the skins; subsequent malolactic fermentation in oak barrels from Austria. The refinement lasts 84 months and is carried out in large barrels. Barolo Monfortino has an intense garnet red color, the olfactory notes are divided into mint and flowers, with hints of violet, roses, wisteria, licorice and cloves. The taste, at the moment of tasting, is tenacious and balanced, accompanied by a note of tannic acid, sweet and nuanced, with a long persistence. Barolo Monfortino is a wine of great longevity, already of the highest quality if drunk when it is released on the market, but it is recommended to let it rest in the cellar to better appreciate its great qualities that will mature over time. Monfortino can be left to rest in the cellar for more than 20 years. Monfortino is a traditional Barolo produced with Nebbiolo grapes of the best quality and with a unique characteristic: It is able to age in an excellent way for tens of years. Even after many years of aging they do not seem to affect the quality of this wine.

Beautiful Lot of 4 bottles of Barbaresco Riserva 1967. Il Minuto del 1967 Riserva displays wonderful aromas - unbelievable for over 50 years! Well ripe red cherry, licorice and dried rose petals with various other spice hints. Similar flavours, slightly less intense. This wine will not improve with further aging

Produced exclusively from Nebbiolo grapes from the vineyards in the Manzoni Soprani area, the "Vigna d'la Roul" takes its name from the mammoth oak tree that shoots up in the middle of the land. A Barolo of decided austerity, whose maturation takes place in barriques for about 36 before a further stop of a year in the bottle. The fundamental characteristics of this wine are the clean and pungent aromas and the structure, determined by a sure incisive tannin. The most "masculine" of the wines produced by Rocche dei Manzoni.

The Spanna is an Italian red wine produced from Nebbiolo grapes grown within the boundaries of the municipality of Gattinara which is located in the hills north of the province of Vercelli, north-west of Novara in Piedmont. The wine is made from a minimum of 90% Nebbiolo grapes and is renowned for its longevity. Notes: a fleshy and full-bodied wine with a subtle and clean nose. Hints of tar and bark, with nuances of cherries and rose petals. Light tannins.

Fantastic bottle of Barolo Pio Cesare from 2002 in magnum format in perfect condition in every respect. Cesare Pio was one of the first to believe in the potential and high quality of Barolo, Barbaresco, Barbera but also of other great Piedmontese wines. At the end of the 19th century he was once again a pioneer among winemakers to produce these wines with a philosophy dedicated to the terroir and the quality of the latter. The company was founded in 1881 and this family has been producing Piedmontese wines for five generations. Pio Cesare owns more than 50 hectares of vineyards in the most qualitative and sought-after denominations, whose production is deliberately limited to maintain a certain requirement.

Amazing wine from Cavallotto Always kept in fridge at 12 degrees A condition A perfect bottle to drink or keep Drinking window according to Parker's reviewer: 2016 - 2030 In my experience though, Cavallotto Barolo is a very traditional and thus slowly developing wine so I wouldn't be scared of the 2030 estimation.
