Lot of two cult wines from Miani with age. Total price

Cult wine is wine that no one has tasted, but everyone either talks about or dreams of tasting.
The wines from Miani in Friuli in Italy are cult wines.
Rare, only tasted by the few and of an unheard of high quality.
Enzo Pontoni, owner and winemaker at Miani, is indisputably one of the biggest personalities in the Italian wine world.
The exceptionally thorough field work, combined with unheard of precise cellar work, results in some of the best wines Italy has to offer.
Enzo Pontoni works without chemicals and has such a low yield on his fields that the production is very small and therefore it is almost impossible to grow his wines.

What characterizes Enzo Pontonis, Miani wines?
He works with a very low yield of only 10 hectoliters per acres.
Everything is organic, which also in some years means that much of the harvest is lost due to diseases or insect attacks, but that does not matter because Enzo does not compromise.
His idea that it should be organic viticulture and his respect for the environment comes first.

The soil is nourished by practicing green manure.
By green manure it is understood that among the vines there are plants with leguminous fruits (e.g. peas and beans, known to be graminaceous).
These plants help to give the soil nitrogenous substances and absorb heavy metals, so that the vines are not affected to the same extent as if those plants were not there.
These plants are planted after the harvest in October and are cut back in April before flowering.
They also help to give the soil oxygen and when the soil is wet, Enzo does not use a tractor as it compresses the soil too hard, which means that it will take years before the desired vitality returns to the soil.
Enzo considers his different plots to be his children and they are therefore treated differently depending on which vines are planted there and the nature of the soil. At the same time, he knows each parcel so well that he knows how to improve and remedy deficiencies.

Today, Enzo proudly owns around 20 hectares of vineyards in the Colli Orientali del Friuli, spread between Buttrio, Rosazzo and Gramogliano.
In addition, he rents a few hectares of vineyards.

The terrain in Friuli is hilly and the soil consists mostly of marl and sandstone.
It is poor in nitrogenous substances, therefore this use of gramineous plants.
Enzo is still experimenting with the amount of yield, which has resulted in a limitation of pruning the vines to achieve less intervention and a more natural development.

Almost 40 years of experience with wine leads Enzo to say today "that life is too short to be able to understand everything".
He has had his ideal wine in mind for years, and sometimes he seems to succeed and that it all comes together in the expression his wines give.
All his work is an attempt to achieve the wine that, in his opinion, is perfect.
Enzo really wants to devote himself to Friuli's native vines, Friuliano, Malvasia, Ribolla and Refosco.
However, he continues to maintain the Sauvignon and Chardonnay vineyards because the vines have now reached a good maturity and produce wines of great complexity and longevity.
Where new plantings take place, it is with new (old) varieties that are planted in the old-fashioned way.
In a desire for the old "native" grapes to be reintroduced in small quantities.
He mixes several different grapes/vines on the same plots to achieve greater complexity and provide better living conditions for the plants and the soil.
Vineyards with mixed vines that ripen late, keeping a low alcohol content, allow Enzo to influence the wines using aging in oak barrels, for both his white and red wines.
