Yquem sauternes 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 in half bottle size are sold together.
To realize its great wine, the property operates an extremely drastic selection of parties and preserves only the most unusual and the most elegant. The other lots, all in all very qualitative, are discarded. Since 2014, Château d'Yquem has bottled some of these lots to create a non-vintage Sauternes that until now was only meant for the property's team. This Sauternes from Château d'Yquem is intended to be homogeneous and regular. The 6 editions produced so far are gathered here and sold together.
Each edition of the Sauternes de Château d'Yquem is made from a blend of vintages. Shares of other vintages are gradually added to the vintage that forms the base.
Sauternes 1: harvest of four vintages from 2010 to 2013, bottled in 2014
Sauternes 2: harvest of five vintages from 2010 to 2014, bottled in 2016.
Sauternes 3: harvest of four vintages from 2011 to 2016, bottled in 2017
Sauternes 4: harvest of four vintages from 2011 to 2016, bottled in 2017
Sauternes 5: harvest of three vintages from 2014 to 2016, bottled in 2019
Sauternes 6: harvest of four vintages from 2014 to 2019, bottled in 2020
Tasting
Restoring a regular expression in each edition by collection, touch by touch, piles of different vintages is an innovative idea at the origin of a wine that is meant to be consumed differently, purely gourmet and relaxed. It offers both aromas of overripe fruit, so typical of large wines of noble rotten, and aromas of fresh fruit, almost lemon, that contribute to the immediate radiance of the wine. The attack is full-bodied and then develops into a refreshingly fresh freshness. If this Sauternes wine was really made to be drunk young, it nevertheless has a very good aging potential.
This case, which consists of the first 6 editions, provides an opportunity to taste vintages at different levels of development. From Sauternes 6, the youngest and freshest, to Sauternes 1, more developed and charming, experience a unique tasting.
