d'Arenberg "the Noble" Wrinkled Riesling 2019, McLaren Vale (375ml) -Test winner Politiken April 2021 (best outside France, ie in front of wines for DKK 300+ from the Moselle, Austria, etc.). Formerly vintages i.a. 2017 95p / WineEnthusiast, 2016: 92p / Parker.
"The Noble", one of Australia's finest noble sweet dessert wines, was first harvested on a special plot near the sea in 1985 and since then in all suitable vintages. Very late harvest, typically April-late May,. The fermentation is long and cool, but still leaves 202.9 g / l residual sweetness and just 9.5% alcohol, but high acidity 8.5. 2019 was test winner in Politiken with 6 *: "Rich and oily scent, candied pineapple and orange, Enormous sweetness, but still a nice acidity and balance. A really good buy. For intense desserts" (norm: DKK 149).
Schweigener Sonnenberg Trockenbeerenauslese 2017, Rudolf Müller. Immeasurably delicious precious white from the top year 2017, made in Schweigen, where the vineyard Sonnenberg goes down to the border with Alsace. The Trockenbeer is harvested extremely late when the grapes approach raisins and the must has a potential alcohol% of 21 -minimum! The fermentation is extremely heavy and long, and the wine stops the fermentation at approx. 10.5% and residual sugar of up to 150 g / l + fairly high acidity. The grapes are silvaner, kernels and optima.
A beautiful deep golden color, sumptuous bouquet of fruit and honey, very sweet, but with fine acids behind, Actually perfect now, but of course extremely durable. 3.7 on Vivino with 40 notes, i.a. Claus Bjarnø: "*****, Deliciously fruity and sweet with tons of peaches and apricots drizzled with honey. Perfect partner for the dessert with a lemon cream, where the acid in the wine tied both together beautifully. We thank you". "*****, Really nice bottle and great balance and weight", -Adam Garner. (guide sale, 149.95).
Puntí Ferrer Late Harvest viognier "Limited Edition", Cachapoal, Chile -smaller family-owned winery in Rapel with domain in Colchagua (red) and the slightly cooler Cachapoal (white) closer to the Pacific Ocean. This late harvested white is made on the grape viognier, which is known from Condrieu and Chateau-Grillet -perfect for dessert wine. Not as sweet as the others, but light, fresh and with sumptuous aroma. Photo i.a. Andrea Lagos, wife and leader of Puntí Ferrer.
