Hervé Villemade, Montcrochet 2020
/ #45401529
Hervé Villemade is one of the Cheverny region’s institutions, alongside names like the Puzelat brothers and Mosse. He took a trip to Georgia in 2012 and came home with amphorae, which have since found a place in the cellar next to the barrels. Montcrochet is an assemblage from three different terroir types: sand and flint, clay and silex, and silt. Aged 80% in amphorae and 20% in barrel. Menu Pineau is an almost extinct Loire grape that Villemade is one of the few who still grows. Fresh, stony and with a complexity that goes far beyond the price range.
Grape: Sauvignon Blanc, Sauvignon Rose, Chardonnay, Menu Pineau
Stored in a basement with a good storage climate. Can be picked up in Nørrebro or by appointment in Copenhagen.
