Bottle has always been stored under optimal conditions
2011 in burgundy, is called by many the year of surprise, as one did not quite know what to expect. the spring was hot and the summer somewhat cooler, this resulted in the grapes being harvested somewhat earlier than usual.
This resulted in wines where terroir really came into play and in Chambertin some fruit-charming teddy bears came into the world.
The farmers down there call the wines for 2011 "A Nice Surprise"
