2008 Sassicaia, Tenuta San Guido, Bolgheri 2008

Sassicaia 2008 is ready in the glass with a small brick edge, just as expected from a 14 year old cabernet based wine. The scent is right in the closet with blackcurrant, leather, tobacco and cedar. Lots of fruit that drowns out the tertiary notes. Plums, red cherries and especially the classic cassis note from cabernet. Green peppers that are ripe, almost grilled. Tastes great now, but can lie for many years yet.
