Jean Pierre Robinot LUMIERE DES SILEX 2021

Lumiere de Silex 2018 is a natural French wine from the Loire Valley, produced by Jean-Pierre Robinot. It is an example of Chenin Blanc, a white grape variety typical of the Loire Valley, interpreted in the style of the visionary and nonconformist vigneron Jean-Pierre Robinot. Chenin Blanc is the white vine of the “long river”, which loves the cool and the ocean, with a fragrant, introverted and slightly aromatic profile, difficult to interpret in youth and with great ageing potential. The grapes come from plants about 40-50 years old that grow on predominantly calcareous soil and are processed according to biodynamic farming methods. This wine is a frank and elegant white that matures in old wooden barrels for 20 months followed by a bottle ageing period. To the freshness and minerality typical of the vine, therefore, is added a complexity and creaminess due to the long ageing.
