Piper-Heidsieck's roots trace back to Florens-Louis Heidsieck, who created the original company of Heidsieck & Co. Christian Heidsieck joined the venture alongside Guillaume Piper and once Florens-Louis died in 1828, the duo decided to continue the adventure side by side, founding Champagne Piper-Heidsieck.
In 2011 both Charles Heidsieck and Piper-Heidsieck were bought by EPI Group headed by Christopher Descours, he has pumped significant finance into the companies allowing them to grow their vineyard holdings, grape purchasing and production. The brands are now growing their sales fast after many decades of decline. Today, production occurs alongside sister company Charles Heidsieck in an ultra-modern functional wine-making facility on the southern outskirts of Reims. Their characteristics differ quite considerably, with Piper opting for a fruitier and lighter style of base wines.
In autumn 2021, Piper-Heidsieck launched their new series of Champagne "Hors-Série" and the first release was Vintage 1971. November 2022 sees the release of the next Hors-Série, which is Vintage 1982. Hors-Série 1982 has been disgorged in the spring of 2022 after 39 years of storage on lees by current cellar master Emilien Boutillat.
Weather: The results of the 1982 harvest are considered amongst the most exceptional ever witnessed in the history of Champagne. The grapes grew under steady weather conditions. The results were irreproachable and the harvest abundant! The grapes, all varieties included, were in excellent condition and stood out for their nesse, equilibrium and grandeur, hallmarks of a great year in Champagne.

Le radici di Piper-Heidsieck risalgono a Florens-Louis Heidsieck, che fondò l'azienda originale Heidsieck & Co. Meteo: I risultati della vendemmia del 1982 sono considerati tra i più eccezionali mai visti nella storia della Champagne. Le uve sono cresciute in condizioni meteorologiche costanti. I risultati sono stati impeccabili e il raccolto abbondante! Le uve, tutte le varietà comprese, erano in condizioni eccellenti e si sono distinte per la loro finezza, equilibrio e grandiosità, tratti distintivi di una grande annata in Champagne.

Les racines de Piper-Heidsieck remontent à Florens-Louis Heidsieck, qui créa la société originale Heidsieck & Co. Christian Heidsieck rejoint l'aventure aux côtés de Guillaume Piper et après la mort de Florens-Louis en 1828, le duo décide de poursuivre l'aventure côte à côte, en fondant le Champagne Piper-Heidsieck.
En 2011, Charles Heidsieck et Piper-Heidsieck ont été rachetés par le groupe EPI, dirigé par Christopher Descours. Ce dernier a investi des fonds importants dans les entreprises, leur permettant de développer leur patrimoine viticole, leurs achats de raisins et leur production. Après plusieurs décennies de déclin, les marques connaissent aujourd'hui une croissance rapide de leurs ventes. Aujourd'hui, la production est assurée conjointement avec sa société sœur, Charles Heidsieck, dans une vinification ultra-moderne et fonctionnelle, située dans la banlieue sud de Reims. Leurs caractéristiques diffèrent sensiblement, Piper optant pour des vins de base plus fruités et plus légers.
À l'automne 2021, Piper-Heidsieck a lancé sa nouvelle série de Champagne « Hors-Série » et la première sortie était le Millésime 1971. Novembre 2022 voit la sortie du prochain Hors-Série, qui est le Millésime 1982. Hors-Série 1982 a été dégorgé au printemps 2022 après 39 ans de stockage sur lies par l'actuel maître de chai Emilien Boutillat.
Météo : Les vendanges 1982 sont considérées comme parmi les plus exceptionnelles jamais observées dans l'histoire de la Champagne. Les raisins ont poussé dans des conditions climatiques stables. Les résultats ont été irréprochables et la récolte abondante ! Les raisins, tous cépages confondus, étaient en excellent état sanitaire et se sont distingués par leur finesse, leur équilibre et leur grandeur, signes distinctifs d'une grande année champenoise.
