Vino Barolo Fontanafredda vigna La Rosa 1970
/ #56605199
Vino Barolo Fontanafredda vigna La Rosa cl. 0.75 vol. 13%
bottle as in the photo
Producer with deep roots in Piedmont, whose approach to Barolo is based on traditional methods with long maceration in steel tanks and subsequent aging in large barrels. 1970 was a year characterized by stable weather conditions and is considered one of the nice classic vintages for the area, with balanced maturity and relatively long-lasting wines. Expect clear tertiary character in both the aroma and taste, with notes of dried fruit, licorice and underlying soil. The alcohol percentage reflects the period, where the expression is often more subdued than the later vintages, and the tannins will have acquired a nice rounded texture over time.
