Carlo Ferragu Valpolicella Superiore 2016
The wine is produced from Corvina, Corvinone and Rondinella from 2.5 hp hectares of fields. These fields face east-west so they get a lot of sun, and they are located in approx. 250 meters high. The vines are approx. 15-20 years and is planted close with approx. 13,000 sticks per hectare. On the other hand, the canes only produce approx. 800 g per vine – but 800 g of high quality grapes. All the grapes are hand-harvested at the beginning of October and transported gently to the winery in small boxes. The grapes are then left to dry for 30 days. After crushing and fermentation of the wine, it has aged for 24 months in small American oak barrels and then min. 6 months in the bottle before release. It produces approx. 20,000 bottles of this vintage
