This wine comes from Gianfranco Soldera 's estate on the slopes of Montalcino in Tuscany, where he works meticulously and dedicatedly with the Sangiovese grape. Soldera has achieved cult status among collectors for decades for his uncompromising approach, focusing on naturally low yields and long aging in large Slavonian barrels. Instead of the conventional Brunello classification, the wine is typically simply labeled as Toscana IGT. 2017 was challenging in the region with heat and drought, but Soldera has managed to maintain both freshness and classic structure, which is reflected in a dense, yet balanced style.
