Beguiling scents of fragrant berry, rose petal, baking spice, new leather and aromatic herbs swirl around in the glass. The vibrant palate is loaded with finesse, doling out morello cherry, crushed raspberry, cinnamon and star anise, while polished tannins and bright acidity provide impeccable balance. It's just gorgeous and while it's already accessible, it also shows mid-term aging potential.

Winemaker Notes:
Yarn red color with variable intensity. The grapes come from different subzones in Serralunga and this gives them a broad and variable spectrum of aromas, ranging from tempting spicy notes to those of a sweeter, floral and fruity nature. A variety of sensations, with a full-bodied, classic and well-structured wine which ages well and perfectly represents the important character of the land.

Exquisitely layered and expressive, the 2013 offers a good dose of Serralunga character, but with mid-weight structure and plenty of near to medium term appeal. The wine's aromatic intensity, depth and overall pedigree are all indicative of what has turned out to be a very high quality year at Massolino".
