The grapes for Pingus come from the 2 parcels Barrosso, where the vines are now more than 65 years old, and San Cristóbal, where they are even older. Altogether, we're just talking about an area of ​​4.2 ha., which in good / rich years delivers enough fruit to fill around 30 barrels. On top of the 2017 frost, which affected about ¼ of the vines despite expensively installed fans/warm air blowers, the vines had some catching up to do, and since after a rainy winter there was at the same time sufficient moisture in the soil for the vines to get through the dry summer months without stress, 2018 was both generous and a good year for Pingus . So both quantity and quality are top notch....
