According to the legislation, Colheita Port must come from one and the same vintage and age for a minimum of 7 years in wooden casks before it can be bottled, but this is a minimum requirement; often Colheita Port is aged significantly longer, whereby the aging aromas become more prominent and the wine thus more complex. Kopke Colheita 1975 presents itself as drinkable, complex and extremely elegant in the classic Kopke style with ethereal aromas of dried fruit, lemon peel, orange, nuts, smoke and the acidity freshness that makes the wine 'weightless' and concentrated at the same time. The puppyish sweetness of youth has evaporated and the volatile acid has arrived in just the right amount. In the glass you get one of the world's great meditation wines, which can also be enjoyed with a well-aged cow's milk cheese with a side dish of slightly pickled prunes or raisins and a slice of buttered toast.
