Cantina D'Arcy Barolo Preda 2020
/ #45865916
MAGNUM
Tom Myers' first release of Barolo, the only Barolo he makes. From the single vineyard 'Preda' in the Barolo commune, which he has a long-term lease on together with Philine Isabelle. Are there two more hyped names in Piedmont than these two at the moment?
Incidentally, produced in the Rinaldi cellar, reportedly because he was dating the youngest of the Rinaldi daughters at the time. Connection to Philine Isabelle, who is with the youngest of the Rinaldi daughters.
Microscopic production, purchase exclusively on allocation, sold out everywhere at recommended prices of around ~200€ in normal size. Not even found on sites like Idealwine, just as Winesearcher can't find prices either - that's how rare we're talking...
Tom Myers is from New Zealand and is often featured in William Kelley's videos on techniques in the vineyard. A statement about his skill and ability. Tom has worked at addresses such as Thierry Allemand, Benjamin Leroux etc. Etc. The list is long, since in 7 years he had 14(!!) harvests. So 7 years in a row in both the southern and northern hemispheres.
Tom leaves Piedmont in 2026, in favor of Tuscany with his new wife - buy while you can...
Several bottles are available in smaller formats, including Langhe Nebbiolo.
