Bollinger Special Cuvée

Bollinger Special Cuvée is the result of a skillful and delicate blend of a small portion of vintage wines and a majority of reserve wines, including those aged in bottle for more than 15 years on the House's premises. After no less than three years on the lees, the Special Cuvée is disgorged with the addition of a liqueur d'expédition made from the same wines as the blend, in order to maintain absolute stylistic consistency.
Disgorgement is mechanized. This last process is a source of pride for Bollinger, as it is performed with a jet system that injects an inert gas into the bottles, preventing oxygen from penetrating and thus allowing for the use of very low levels of sulfites. These are the characteristics that make the cuvée special, along with the raw materials used, grown in the most prestigious crus of Champagne.
