At the top of the historic Valpolicella field La Grola lies a small plateau of less than 3 ha and lit up with a dazzling white color, due to the particularly calcareous soil. In 1979, Giovanni Allegrini, guided by a deep understanding of his beloved Valpolicella, decided to plant exclusively Corvina Veronese grapes on the white hilltop. Back then, he could not even have imagined the extraordinary success the resulting wine would have. The soil, the Corvina grape and first-class viticultural techniques, give a fantastic wine with great personality and balance. Even after over 4 years in the bottle, the wine is still beautifully fresh and crisp with a full spectrum of aromas ranging from fruit to spices and herbs. Full-bodied and juicy, with a long, lingering aftertaste.
