Montosoli is a name associated with one of Montalcino's most renowned slopes, where the Sangiovese grape often expresses itself with particular complexity and refinement. Altesino has been a pioneer in the area since the 1970s and has built a solid reputation for their interpretation of the Montosoli vineyard. The 1987 vintage in Tuscany was characterised by relatively fluctuating weather conditions, but careful selection in the field helped to ensure that only the best grapes were used for vinification.
