In the southern part of Morey-Saint-Denis, Les Ruchots is directly adjacent to the Grand Cru area Clos de la Roche, which contributes to the vineyard’s reputation among Morey’s Premier Cru vineyards. Domaine Arlaud works biodynamically and has for many years been known for a gentle approach to vinification, often using a proportion of whole bunches depending on the character of the vintage. Morey-Saint-Denis from 2018 generally appears concentrated and ripe, but at Arlaud the depth is balanced with beautiful freshness and precision. Les Ruchots expresses the area’s classic pure red fruit and fine spices, combined with a discreet mineral touch.
