📝 Tasting notes

One of the most concentrated and powerful editions of La Belle Hélène to date.
The nose offers ripe black berries, cedar and spices. In the mouth the wine is full-bodied, velvety and deeply structured, with intense fruit and a long, elegant finish.
Although not quite as nuanced as the house's “La Côte Blonde”, the 2018 edition is a masterpiece in balance, strength and texture – a wine with enormous aging potential.

🏰 About Domaine Stéphane Ogier

Domaine Stéphane Ogier is one of the most respected names in Côte-Rôtie. The family has been growing wine for seven generations, but it was Stéphane who elevated the house to world class after his takeover in 1997.
He combines classic terroir focus with modern precision, and his wines are often compared to the greatest from Guigal and Jamet – but in a more elegant, silky style.

“La Belle Hélène” is only produced in microscopic quantities (typically under 3,000 bottles) from a small plot of extremely old Syrah vines – some planted as far back as the 1950s.
It is a wine that is never seen on the open market, and which is described in collector circles as one of the Rhône Valley's most sought-after single-vineyard wines.

🍷 About Rhône and Côte-Rôtie

The northern Rhône is home to the world’s most complex and elegant Syrah wines. The Côte-Rôtie (“Roasted Slope”) is situated on steep, granite terraces where the sun gives the grapes their unique ripeness and spicy character.
La Belle Hélène is the essence of this terroir – powerful, rich, but at the same time finely calibrated and refined.
