One of only 2084 bottles produced! Age of the vines : 50-52 years old Chambertin is among the top 5 best grands crus in Burgundy. Its central position on a slightly sloping, moderately cool and windy hill gives the wine a unique texture. It faces east. This deep substratum is finely covered with limestone scree and silt which have settled for millenaries and which agriculture has mixed for many centuries. The soils of Le Clos de Bèze and Le Chambertin prove to be different: their difference comes from an unbalanced proportion between the composition of Bajocian crinoidal limestone and marly layers. Both upper and lower register aromas include the essence of plum, red cherry and lavender that contrasts with plenty of spice, earth and sauvage elements. The rich, powerful and gorgeously textured flavors possess excellent size and weight along with very solid concentration where the abundant amount of dry extract buffers the very firm tannic spine shaping the youthfully austere and impressively long finish where a touch of bitter cherry pit character arises. Once again, patience definitely advised. – Allen Meadows, Burghound.com, Score: 92-95 The 2017 Chambertin Clos-de-Bèze Grand Cru has a clean, precise bouquet that is focused and direct, offering red and black fruit, crushed stone and more terroir expression than the Mazoyères. The palate is medium-bodied, the sappy red fruit on the entry laced with marmalade and dried quince, and grippy in the mouth, with a touch of spiciness, although it does not fan out on the finish as I hoped. The wines of Coche Dury are some of the most prized in any collection around the world. The Hospices de Beaune is a top-level wine estate covering 60 hectares, of which 85% are in premiers crus and grands crus areas. This Cuvée is made up from 5 superbly-placed Volnay Premier Cru lots (En Caillerets, Carelle Sous la Chapelle, Frémiets, Taillepieds and Le Village). Only 3-5 barrels are produced annually. For many years now, the Domaine’s vineyards have been cultivated taking a sustainable, environmentally-friendly approach (no chemical inputs), and even according to organic principles when the conditions over the year allow it, as they did in 2018. Bright purple in color. Nose with lively raspberry fruit and intensity, a hint of licorice. A rather firm and dense mouth that does not remove the wine’s nice subtlety.

CT-note: Medium garnet. Discrete nose with very complex aromas of red and dark fruit with a whole cluster touch. Elegant presence on the palate, good volume and dry extract providing structure. This is a sublime Burgundy, reminds me of the DRC style both structurally and aromatically. If you are a fan of elegant, aromatic Burgundies, you will love this. CT-note: OK, now we are talking, a big step up from the Premier Crus. The nose is sophisticated here with that beautiful, so distinctively French mix of game/musk/earth intermixed with red fruit. This, unlike the 2010 Beze was really ready to drink. A sophisticated Charmes. Episk årgang fra en af Gevrey-Chambertins mest sofistikerede producenter. CT-note ( 96 p): Pale garnet. Pronounced complex nose. Beautiful bouquet. Drank fruit - blackberries, red fruit - raspberries, liquorice, Chinese tea, sous-bois, mushroom, toast, smoke, cinnamon, nuts. Fully developed. Dry, high acidity, medium- fine tannins, medium- alcohol, med+ body, pronounced flavours, Long finish. Absolutely fabulous mature Burgundy. Amazing intensity on the nose and palate, finish that goes on and on. No hurry to drink but definitely at its peak now. Unicorn Grand Cru from the King of Gevrey-Chambertin. The vintage 2002 is from the era when Charles Rousseau reached his summit. The bottle has perfect provenance and fill. Acquired directly from the official Danish importer (invoice available). Since then stored in my Liebherr wine cabinet at optimal temperature and humidity. Perfect labels.

CT-note: Delicate and precise. This is so fine and lacey. It took about 2 hours to open up. Initially shy and restrained, it quietly grew into a beautifully balanced and complex wine. Kompleksitet og intensitet er indbegrebet af d'Eugenies spot, som er en af de bedst beliggende parceller i Vougeot.

Clos-Vougeot - Grand Cru 2001 fra Domaine Stephane Brocard Afhentes/leveres i Hørsholm/Frederiksberg efter aftale.

CT-note: Wonderfully balanced and in great shape! It needed 1-2 hours to really open up and gain weight, but was expressive the entire evening. The nose screamed Chambertin, with bright red fruit (cherry, strawberry), damp earth, licorice and spice. Well balanced, concentrated, complex and intriguing. Drikkemoden Chambertin. Perfekt stand og opbevaring. Kun én ejer.

Volnay Les Caillerets - Ancienne Cuvee Carnot 2014 fra Domaine Bouchard Peré & Fils Rigtig lækker klassisk bourgogne. Stramt og køligt udtryk. Afhentes/leveres i Hørsholm/Frederiksberg efter aftale.

Seneste CT-note: Light red color. Good combination of fruit and soil aromas. Light weight. Again, excellent fruit/soil mix on the palate. Delicate, light tannins. So much more Gevrey character than Mortet and successful for the vintage. Perfekt stand og opbevaring. Købt ved frigivelsen.
