Isole e Olena is one of the wineries that has made the biggest contribution to the resurgence of the Chianti Classico district that has taken place since the 1990s. The profits are first and foremost the owner's, Paolo De Marchi. With a progressive approach to winemaking, he has achieved unimaginable qualities found in Chianti wines, and his super-Tuscans on international grape varieties are exceptionally well-balanced. Several wine critics consider Isole e Olena to be Chianti's best winery. Paulo and his son Luca have also invested both time and a lot of money in rebuilding Paulo's fathers vineyard in Piedmont, Proprietà Sperino.
