Monfortino is a Barolo, an expressive, deep and territorial Barolo, just like the cellar founded by the Conterno family in 1900. The first time a Monfortino label appeared was in 1924, as the vineyards were mostly near Monforte d 'Alba, while since 1974 Monfortino has been produced with grapes from Vigna Francia di Serralunga d'Alba. The bunches are chosen with care and abundance, vinification takes place through an alcoholic fermentation process in oak vats with maceration on the skins; subsequent malolactic fermentation in oak barrels from Austria. The refinement lasts 84 months and is carried out in large barrels.
