Felsina Fontalloro. Perfekt stand og opbevaret korrekt. Helt tilbage ved etableringen i 1966, med Poggiali-familiens stædige insisteren på udelukkende at benytte Sangiovese-druen, og siden Giuseppe Mazzocolins videreførelse af mindsettet frem til den første Fontalloro frigivelse i 1983, har denne vin demonstreret terroir-tænkning som ingen andre i Chianti. Sangiovese-druerne til Fontalloro høstes på begge sider af grænsen mellem Chianti Classico og Chianti Colli Senesi. It was the first Sangiovese to be aged in small oak barrels, the first red wine in modern times to use a non-traditional grape variety, Cabernet, in the blend, and among the first red wines made in Chianti with no white grapes.
