Jean Gagnerot Pommard 1er Cru La Platiére 2013

/ #13059891
Size: 750 ml (Standard)
Red

1 bottle, store in wine fridge.

The La Platière field is located as one of the most north-eastern of the 1er Cru fields in Pommard and, quite unusually, has a south-westerly exposure on La Grande Combe down towards the river L'Avant Dheune, which runs through Pommard and divides the town in two.

The grapes are harvested gently in the early morning hours before being transported to the winery. Here, vinification takes place according to traditional methods and with modern equipment. The process starts in thermoregulated stainless steel tanks for 21 days, during which a cold maceration at 8 degrees is maintained.

A long fermentation with pigage and remounting is used and finally the fermentation reaches up to 30 degrees. After fermentation, the wine is then aged for 18 months in French oak barrels, of which 40% are new barrels.
