Château Pesquié is one of the most iconic wineries in the Ventoux appellation and the southern Rhône valley. Its wines, often praised by the most influential wine critics, deliver balance and freshness.

The Chaudière family took over the château in 1971. For 50 years, three generations of winegrowers have followed each other with the same desire to offer the very best expression of the Ventoux terroir. Today, the two brothers, Alex and Fred Chaudière, run Château Pesquié in four hands, keeping this unique heritage alive and developing innovative methods.

Château Pesquié's terroir lies at the foot of Mont Ventoux and is one of the coolest microclimates in the southern part of the Rhône Valley. The influence of the mountain and the average altitude of the vineyard, between 250 and 400 meters (between 800 and 1300 feet), ensure excellent physiological balance for the vines. Château Pesquié is located in the heart of a natural park and a UNESCO biosphere reserve.

The Château Pesquié vineyard is cultivated organically (the first plot was certified "AB" in 2007) and biodynamically. The Chaudiere brothers also maintain a cover crop appropriate for the unparalleled biodiversity of the area and the vitality of their soil. The terroir is predominantly limestone, but gives a great mineral complexity with also clay, sand and marl parts.

The wines of Château Pesquié express the coolness of the Ventoux terroir, respecting the purity of the fruit and the salty taste of its mineral diversity. Balance and freshness are the key words in the winemaking and aging process: moderate use of barrels, mostly for syrah, demi-muids (600 L), stainless steel vats, concrete eggs and raw concrete vats, are the main tools to create precise and elegant wines.

The winery fronts a magnificent 17th-century castle and an impressive 300-year-old tree-lined alley, set in a beautiful and preserved ecosystem. The estate is open all year round for tastings, visits or idyllic picnics in the garden. There are also plenty of events, from markets in the castle garden to concerts, a white dress party, wine fairs and performing artists.
