Flaccianello della Pieve 2012

Flaccianello Della Pieve IGT 2012 Flaccianello is the top wine from Fontodi and one of the most successful examples of a pure Sangiovese red wine. The grapes are harvested from Fontodi's oldest plots by hand. The fermentation takes place only with the grapes' own yeast cells, in a steel tank over a period of 3 weeks. Subsequently, the wine is stored in new French oak barrels for 18 months. This wine tastes enchanting as a youngster, but has the potential to develop up to 15 years in the cellar. Always rated as one of the best wines from Tuscany.
