Leroy Bourgogne Rouge 2009
/ #3036378
Mature bottle from one of the world's most coveted winemakers Lalou Bize-Leroy. The wine is in good condition, however, has a little cosmetic patina on the label, which can be seen in the pictures. It has had this since the purchase of Jørgen Krÿff in L’esprit du Vin approx. 2012 and has always been properly stored in a wine cabinet.
History:
There are three units in the Leroy Empire: Maison Leroy based in Auxey-Duresses; Domaine d'Auvenay named after the house of Lalou Bize-Leroy near St-Romain and the remarkable Domaine Leroy in Vosne-Romanée. Lalou Bize-Leroy also owned a quarter of the Domaine de la Romanée-Conti, where she was co-director. In 1988, Lalou Bize-Leroy bought Domaine Charles Nöellat in Vosne Romanée and renamed it Domaine Leroy. Domaine has been biodynamically cultivated from the very beginning. Lalou Bize-Leroy has 23 acres of vines, mostly classified as Premier and Grand Cru. Domaine Leroy is blessed with a legacy of ancient vines and is one of the most renowned for its great quality. A domain wrapped in a fascinating mystery.
