Côte Baleau, St Émilion Grand Cru (Classé), 91p/Parker 2010
/ #34726191p / Parker. The small castle is Cru Classé again after a break because the wine from 2 other (very small) castles from the same owner was made in the cellars of the castle. But since 2012, the castle is again Cru Classé - like the neighbors on "Côten" in St. Emilion. 80% merlot. 2010 is a superb vintage.
91p / Parker: "The wine displays lots of rich berry fruit, some licorice, cedar, underbrush, and incense. It is medium to full-bodied, up-front and forward, and quite drinkable despite the fact that it is less than three years of age.It should drink well for 12-15 years.
One of the strongest efforts from proprietor Sophie Fourcade in a number of years, the 2010 is a blend of 70% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc and the rest Cabernet Sauvignon from a 33-acre vineyard that was upgraded in the 2012 new classification of the wines of St.-Emilion. "
Also i.a. 16.5p / Revue du Vin (as 1.Grand Cru).
Owned by Clos Fourtet, but led by the gifted Sophie Fourcade (photo). Perfect condition, perfect bottle. Nice now, but can be saved for a few more years. Picked up or sent.
