Champagne de Venoge - Princesse, Rosé
This exceptional Champagne is produced exclusively on Pinot Noir from very selectively selected parcels on Les Riceys as well as Petite and Grande Montagne de Reims, from which the grapes contribute minerality and backbone to Princes Rosé, while the Pinot Nor grapes from Les Riceys give richness to this great Champagne.
The aromas of strawberry and gooseberry combined with a lovely citrus note make this Champagne a bit of a wonder to enjoy as an aperitif accompanied by some lobster or salmon.
The Princes series revives the story of the mythical "Champagne Princes", which was launched in 1864 by the house's then owner Joseph de Venoge, in honor of the Prince of Orange. The elegant and famous bottle, shaped like a decanter, is reminiscent of the crystal bottles used by European aristocracies to decant their champagnes at the beginning of the twentieth century.
The dosage is 6g/litre.
