" The 2018 RDJ No. 1 was inspired by Cédric Bouchard's mother-in-law. "She doesn't care what it is, or where it's from; she just tells me if it's good or not, yes or no," he explains. In that spirit, he elected to select his favorite vat in the cellar and to disclose neither its origins nor encépagement, so everyone who drinks it will be effectively tasting blind. Given the provocative precept, it's no surprise that Bouchard has chosen to launch this new series with one of the finest wines he has produced to date, an expansive, vinous Champagne redolent of peaches, bread dough, baking spices, ripe orchard fruit, mango and toasted nuts. Full-bodied, fleshy and concentrated, it's layered and satiny, with a broad attack that segues into a seamless, layered and intensely vinous mid-palate, concluding with a long, resonant finish. "Il RDJ No. 1 del 2018 è stato ispirato dalla suocera di Cédric Bouchard. "Non le importa cosa sia o da dove provenga; "Lei mi dice solo se è buono o no, sì o no", spiega. Con questo spirito, ha scelto di selezionare il suo tino preferito in cantina e di non rivelarne né le origini né l'encépagement, in modo che chiunque lo beva lo assaggi effettivamente alla cieca. Dato il principio provocatorio, non sorprende che Bouchard abbia scelto di lanciare questa nuova serie con uno dei migliori vini che abbia prodotto fino ad oggi, uno Champagne ampio e vinoso che ricorda pesche, pasta di pane, spezie da forno, frutta matura da frutteto, mango e noci tostate. Corposo, carnoso e concentrato, è stratificato e satinato, con un attacco ampio che prosegue in un palato centrale fluido, stratificato e intensamente vinoso, concludendo con un finale lungo e risonante. Le RDJ n° 1 2018 a été inspiré par la belle-mère de Cédric Bouchard. « Peu lui importe ce que c'est ou d'où ça vient ; elle me dit simplement si c'est bon ou pas, oui ou non », explique-t-il. Dans cet esprit, il a choisi de sélectionner sa cuve préférée dans la cave et de n'en révéler ni l'origine ni l'encépagement, afin que chaque dégustateur vive une expérience à l'aveugle. Fort de ce principe provocateur, il n'est pas surprenant que Bouchard ait choisi de lancer cette nouvelle série avec l'un de ses plus beaux vins à ce jour : un Champagne ample et vineux aux arômes de pêche, de pâte à pain, d'épices, de fruits mûrs, de mangue et de fruits secs grillés. Corsé, charnu et concentré, il est complexe et soyeux, avec une attaque franche qui se prolonge en un milieu de bouche harmonieux, complexe et intensément vineux, pour s'achever sur une finale longue et persistante.
