"Gemma is a large, modern winery, founded in 1982 by Silvano Piacentini, who is a major supplier to the Salling group (including le Arche, Franciacorta and many other wines). Gemma belongs to the modern style, where one is aware of not Gemma is located in Serralunga in Barolo and looks very nice (photo). Silvano's son, Luigi leads the domain together with winemaker Giorgio Barbero. 91p / Falstaff: "Saturated, dimly lit ruby. Delicate spicy nose after black pepper, amaranth cherries and ripe prunes, in the aftertaste of blackberries. Balanced on the palate and with fine melt, juicy and with clear fruit, good length.".
