Chateau de Bonnezeaux, La Montagne 2020
/ #45408571
Château de Bonnezeaux had been dormant for almost 30 years - the vineyards were abandoned - when the family asked Guyonne Saclier de la Bâtie to revive the property in 2012. She had just completed an internship with two of Anjou's biggest names: Mark Angeli and Stéphane Bernaudeau. La Montagne is the southwest-facing hill that gave the château its name, slate and clay soil, no chemicals, no certification, minimal sulphur. The first vintage was 2016 in a production of just 2,000 bottles. The wine is made dry, not as a classic moelleux - Chenin Blanc in its most tightened and mineral form.
Grape: 100% Chenin Blanc
Stored in a basement with a good storage climate. Can be picked up in Nørrebro or by appointment in Copenhagen.
