Many rock stars have bought a winery, but Zac Brown (b. 1978) has more motivation than many - he started his career with a restaurant (with live music by himself), "Zac's Place" in Georgia. The sale of it gave him money for the tour bus - and the rest of rock history, which includes countless awards and hits, not least "Uncaged" - which was so successful that he was able to buy a winery, which naturally got this name on the label! On the new label is an owl, which for him is the guardian of the vine and part of the mystery of a wine - and chosen as the name for his "the Owl" tour!
Zac makes the wine together with winemaker John Killebrew from the Delicato family. The quantities are limited, the style is uninhibited fruit, fullness and finesse - "Uncaged"! The red blend is for me the funniest wine, drier and more edible than the standard zin from California.

What a luscious entry; brilliant violet-blackberry preserves. Creamy, and packed with generous notes of fennel, chocolate mint and a lick of salinity. "

Grapes: 100% North Coast, Zinfandel, Petite Sirah, Syrah, Malbec (Sonoma, Napa and Mendocino). The wine is stored in French and American oak.

Alexander Brown Proprietary Red Blend achieves complexity and real dimension.
