San Giusto a Rentennano has for several years distinguished itself as one of Tuscany's most precise interpreters of Sangiovese, and Percarlo is the producer's uncompromising top wine, made exclusively from selected grapes from old vines. The wine is vinified traditionally and aged in a combination of small and large barrels, in order to preserve the transparent character of the grape while giving the wine great structure and depth.

2006 is generally considered a balanced and classic vintage in Tuscany, where long maturation times and good growing conditions produced wines with both concentration, acidity and tannin structure. Percarlo from this year typically shows great aging potential and a cool, mineral expression that balances robust fruit with precise, stony undertones. The wine has consistently received strong ratings from leading critics, and today it still appears youthful with potential for further development.
