A somewhat near-complete wine and better in many ways than the 2013 I had before Christmas. Didn't think it was possible but the bottle you see in the picture here tasted wonderful.

James Suckling describes it very well:

Critic tasting note: (2015 vintage) "This is dailed back and dailed in. The purity to this is superb with crushed apple, peach, lemon and slate character. Full body, lightly sweet and very fruity but the linear length and focus are impressive. Like tasting freshly picked grapes. Drink now or hold for as long as you like. Energy. Purity. Almost minty finish. From biodynamically grown grapes." - James Suckling

Clos Saint Urbain is located at the southern end of the Grand Cru Range, where steep, volcanic slopes form the basis for a powerful and mineral style. Domaine Zind-Humbrecht manages the vineyard biodynamically, and the wine expresses the area’s terroir with great clarity – often with remarkable concentration and complexity, balancing ripe fruit and pronounced minerality.

2015 was characterized by a warm and dry growing season, which has produced fine, ripe grapes. Combined with the producer's low yields and late harvest, this results in a wine with both depth and structure, where residual sweetness and acidity work together to provide both aging potential and drinkability. Pinot Gris from Rangen likes to show notes of smoked stone, dried fruit and spice, supported by the focused, mineral expression typical of the field.
