Filippo Rizzo makes irresistible, elegant and far from typical wines on a high plateau approximately 450 meters above sea level in the middle of no man's land in Sicily. We are far from the coast in the southernmost part of the Catania region and with 50 kilometers to the nearest winegrower. The farm is approximately 11 hectares, but only a little under five of them are cultivated with vines. The field work is organically certified, and in the cellar Filippo goes his own way in the effort to make light, cool and low-alcohol wines. Filippo does not like dogma and is also not much for the label natural wine. But that does not change the fact that in Lamoresca he de facto produces some of the most pure and unmanipulated expressions of the local grape varieties, especially Frappato, which in the local dialect goes by the name Nerocapitano.
