Nota di degustazione dell'esperto: (annata 2016) "Rosso rubino intenso e pigmentato, ma non opaco. Il frutto maturo di cassis al naso si sposa con un carattere fogliare/mentolato e note di rovere tostato/cedario. Il fresco cassis iniziale al palato è sostenuto da una fresca acidità. Note più mature di prugna rossa emergono a metà palato, portando a un cuore di liquirizia. I tannini sono vellutati e il centro palato è rotondo e di corpo medio-pieno. Appartenente alla stessa famiglia da oltre un secolo, questa tenuta con oltre cento ettari di vigneti produce un vino riconosciuto per la qualità costante delle sue annate. "Per molti, Talbot incarna il Saint Julien ideale, un bouquet generoso, estremamente stabile e affidabile durante l'invecchiamento", sottolineano Bettane e Desseauve nella loro Guida ai Vini Francesi. È vero, Talbot è un campione di longevità; anche Talbot giovane è piacevole e rotondo, sempre caratterizzato da tannini setosi, delicati e molto raffinati. Talbot possiede un carattere espansivo. Non si chiude mai in se stesso e ha la cortesia di essere di buon umore ogni giorno. È un vino vivace, con complesse note di tabacco Avana e liquirizia, classicamente delizioso senza mai il minimo accenno di austerità.

Note de dégustation de l'expert : (millésime 2016) « Robe rubis profonde et sombre, sans être opaque. Au nez, le cassis mûr se marie à des notes feuillues et mentholées, ainsi qu'à des notes de chêne grillé et de cèdre. En bouche, la fraîcheur du cassis est relevée par une acidité fraîche. Des notes de prune rouge mûre émergent en milieu de bouche, laissant place à un cœur de réglisse. Les tannins sont veloutés, le milieu de bouche est rond et moyennement corsé. Il est vrai que Talbot est un champion de la longévité ; même jeune, Talbot est agréable et rond, toujours caractérisé par des tanins soyeux, doux et très civilisés. Talbot possède un caractère expansif. Il ne se renferme jamais sur lui-même et a la courtoisie d'être de bonne humeur au quotidien. C'est un vin racé, aux notes complexes de tabac de Havane et de réglisse, d'une gourmandise classique sans la moindre trace d'austérité.
