Domaine Dujac Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru 2023
/ #62581722
Charmes-Chambertin is one of the eight Grand Cru vineyards in Gevrey-Chambertin, known for its relatively open and silky style compared to some of the area's other Grand Cru wines. Domaine Dujac has been working with plots in this vineyard since 2005, vinifying with a balanced approach to both whole bunches and only light new oak, which contributes to the wine's fine structure and aromatic complexity.
2023 in Burgundy has been characterized by a mild growing season and a low yield, which is reflected in good concentration and ripeness in the fruit. Typical of Dujac is the wine's special sense of transparency and finesse, where fresh red berries and subtle spice can be sensed already in the young vintages. The aging potential itself is solid; one can expect a wine that will develop harmoniously over at least 15-20 years.
