Fabulous bottle of Spanna Umberto Fiore dated 1971 in magnum format in excellent condition in all respects. The Spanna is an Italian red wine produced from Nebbiolo grapes grown within the boundaries of the municipality of Gattinara which is located in the hills north of the province of Vercelli, north-west of Novara in Piedmont. The wine is made from a minimum of 90% Nebbiolo grapes and is renowned for its longevity. Notes: a fleshy and full-bodied wine with a subtle and clean nose. Hints of tar and bark, with nuances of cherries and rose petals. Light tannins.

CT-note (96 p): Very intense nose of cherry, tobacco and wilted rose. The palate is spectacularly pure. It is very Burgundian in style, with an obvious presence. The juice is wildly elegant with a complexity to die for, the mouthfeel is magnificent, silky, before the power, all contained, coats the tongue with aromas of blood orange and leather. The second salvo is more grassy with sweet spices. The balance and coherence of the whole is impressive, it traces in the mouth thanks to a structure and an acidity of the most noble.
