Salon Le Mesnil 1971

Champagne Salon is an extremely rare vintage champagne, produced exclusively in the best vintages. A unique Blanc de Blancs that comes from the best Chardonnay grapes from the proprietary vineyard "Le Jardin de Salon" and other small parcels of the grand cru Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, the most prestigious terroir of the Côte des Blancs. Following refermentation in the bottle, this cuvée remains for 10 years in the cool and silent cellar of the Maison, before revealing its complexity and finesse, its prestige, its class. The low Extra Brut dosage is the additional touch that further enriches the product without distorting it.

After purchasing the Maison Delamotte, the fifth oldest winery in Mesnil-sur-Oger, a Grand Cru municipality of the Côte des Blancs, the Maison Laurent-Perrier, in 1988 finalized the purchase of the nearby Salon winery, renowned for the excellent quality of its Champagne. Today, both the Delamotte house and the Salon house are masterfully directed by the oenologist Didier Depond who, as far as the Salon company is concerned, tries to enhance a history that began way back in 1905....
