Pfersigberg or Peach Mountain, as it is called in Danish, is one of the 50 Grand Cru areas located in Alsace. Smaller enclaves that together make up about 1600 hectares. Here, the permitted yield in the field is less than in the rest of Alsace, and only four grape varieties may be grown - including Gewürztraminer. All four thrive on Peach Mountain, but it is especially the production of Gewürztraminer that has made this Cru internationally known. Paul Ginglinger only makes a few thousand bottles of this wine a year.

It is made from pure Gewürztraminer grown on calcareous sandstone soils. A grape variety that, compared to almost all other white wine grapes, gives a wine with a deeper color, a stronger aroma and more fullness. The grapes on the slopes are hand-picked. Gewürztraminer is today believed to be a variant of the variety Traminer, which is native to the Italian Tyrol.

The wine teases the nose with a scent of plums and roses, and which with its great fullness and discreet sweetness is the pleasant companion to such different things as goose liver pâté, strong cheese (try it from Münster in Germany) and strong Thai food. Must be drunk cooled at a temperature of approx. 8 to 10 degrees.
